The Human and Social Dynamics of Data and Technology requirement is designed to ensure that students graduate with a basic understanding of how technology and data interact with human and societal contexts. The requirement may be satisfied by taking an approved course. Coursework used to satisfy Human and Social Dynamics of Data and Technology must be completed with a letter grade of C- or higher.
Satisfying the Human and Social Dynamics Requirement with a Berkeley Course
The following Berkeley course options, completed with a letter grade of C- or higher, satisfy the Human and Social Dynamics of Data and Technology requirement:
Code | Title | Units |

Satisfying the Human and Social Dynamics Requirement through a CDSS major
The Data Science major program automatically satisfies Human and Social Dynamics of Data and Technology through their major requirements.
Satisfying the Human and Social Dynamics Requirement with a Transfer Course
At this point, no courses have been identified at a California Community College that would satisfy this requirement.
Successful completion of transferable courses from other higher education institutions (i.e., 2-year or 4-year campus in the U.S. or non-UCEAP courses from abroad) may be considered. Course descriptions and syllabi will be required to make a determination. For more information on pursuing transfer courses for Human and Social Dynamics of Data and Technology at another higher education institution, review CDSS’s Transfer Credit: Other Higher Education Institutions webpage.
